How to configure a connection to a virtual private network (VPN) in Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3
From the "Apple" menu, select "System Preferences".
In the System Preferences, select the "Network" icon or choose "Network" from the "View" menu. In the menu next to "Show:" select "AirPort".
If "AirPort" is not available, select "Network Port Configurations",
click the checkbox next to "AirPort", and then choose "AirPort" from the "Show:" menu.
Select the "TCP/IP" tab if it isn't already active, then make sure that "Using DHCP"
is selected next to "Configure:".
Click "Apply Now" to save this configuration. You are now ready to establish a VPN connection. From your "Applications" folder, open "Internet Connect".
When the program opens, select "New VPN Connection Window" from the "File" menu.
If you establish the VPN at first time, you may see a box warning you that you don't have an active AirPort, modem, or PPoE connection.
Click "Use VPN". You may also see a box prompting you to set up your VPN connection (See Picture Below), click "Continue".
In the "VPN Connection" window enter your user name and password (you have got in your registration e-mail).
If you want your computer automatically save your login information for next session, set the "Add to Keychain" item.
Next to "Server address:" type the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that you want to connect to (you received in registration e-mail), and then click "Connect".
When you are ready to disconnect, open "Internet Connect" and from the "VPN Connection" window,
click "Disconnect" button.
If you cannot connect to the VPN server, contact VPN server support team: http://vpnaccounts.info/eng/contacts.html. |
